ABOUT

Palpably honest and daringly expressive, Naia Lika is making waves as an innovative, yet nostalgic artist through pop, soul, and r&b. Her creative path was founded in the womb – seriously. During an ultrasound, Lika’s parents observed her mouth moving with distinguished, vibrato-like motions and they knew she would be born a singer. Coming from a long line of honorable musicians, this intrinsic ability didn’t surprise the family. Lika’s great-grandfather marked a pivotal milestone for them, singing alongside the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, Sammy Davis Jr.

Initially, Lika’s parents introduced her to musical theater and she mindlessly stuck with it for the majority of her upbringing in Las Vegas and Michigan. As she was attending Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music, self-awareness began to culminate and speak new conversations towards her, challenging the comfort she felt in her career choice and even sexuality. This year of self-discovery brought her to the realization that she was bisexual – an entirely new experience for her.  Bringing on the swells of an identity crisis, Lika dropped out of college and moved to LA. She carved her own creative path, writing music for the first time during the pandemic. It was the first time she felt that she was actively choosing to pursue music, instead of blindly following her family’s footsteps. Her sound today is much inspired by artists like Remi Wolf, Dua Lipa, Leon Bridges, and YEBBA.
